Deli Counter
PROJECT OVERVIEW
I HAD TO DESIGN AND BUILD A COUNTER THAT WOULD COUNT FROM 0-80 AND HAVE A RESET SWITCH. THE COUNTER DISPLAYS ORDER NUMBERS IN A DELI AND RESETS TO 0 WHEN NEEDED.

MultiSim
PLD
PLD mode differs from design mode because it can be uploaded to a PLD breadboard. It uses pins assignments to make breadboarding easier by removing the need for extra wires. Input connectors are used for input signals(clock,Power, switches) and output connectors are used for output signals(LEDs,displays). The upload process is used to upload the circuit design from the computer to the chip which allows you to create the physical circuit.
Bill of Materials
- Pld design
- wires
- breadboard
- chip
Conclusion
- SSI is small scale integration and MSI is medium scale integration.
- MSI can only count up from 0.
- The ripple effect means there is a delay between numbers like a ripple.
- When the switch is turned on the signal passes through the chips. There are four flip-flop/74 chips that are set to count 0-8(outputs go to dig 1) and one 93 chip set to count 0-9(outputs go to dig 0). The output of the 0-9 count is used for the clock of the 0-8 count so that it changes when the first count is complete. The circuit counts 0-80, stops at 80, and resets at 0.
- Other classmates created their circuit differently by using different gates and configurations.
